Crawley Residents Strengthen Home Flood Defences Following Grant

Crawley Parish Council successfully procured a grant from West Oxfordshire District Council to support household flood defences across the village.

Published: 25 March 2026

Crawley Parish Council has confirmed the successful rollout of a village flood support scheme, funded by a one-off grant from West Oxfordshire District Council.

The funding was used to help residents put in place personal flood defence measures at their own properties.

This included support towards items such as sandbags, giving households practical tools to protect their homes during periods of heavy rainfall.

Due to the limited nature of the fund, contributions were allocated across a number of requests to ensure as many households as possible could benefit.

Residents have shared their appreciation for the swift organisation and clear communication throughout the process, led by the Parish Council.

The scheme has helped strengthen preparedness at a household level, providing added reassurance across the village.
